Transparency is a core principle of Snip.Cards. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, how we use it, and — most importantly — what we never do.
Application-Level Privacy: Snip.Cards executes 100% client-side. We do not collect, process, or store source code, generated cards, or IP addresses at the application layer. All code rendering, syntax highlighting, image generation, and card customization is executed entirely within your web browser.
Like virtually all web services, our hosting and CDN infrastructure providers (such as Cloudflare Pages) may temporarily process standard network connection metadata (including ephemeral IP addresses, User-Agent strings, and request timestamps) strictly for routing, security defense (DDoS mitigation), and network anomaly detection. These operational logs are managed under strict provider data retention policies and are never linked to individual user profiles.
Because all processing occurs locally in your browser, we do not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:
Snip.Cards may save your editor preferences — such as selected theme, font size, or
language choice — to your browser's localStorage so that
your settings are remembered between sessions. This data:
To help fund the continuous maintenance, hosting, and free availability of Snip.Cards, we may display advertisements provided by third-party advertising networks, programmatic ad exchanges, or monetization partners. These advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, and similar tracking technologies to serve contextual or interest-based advertisements, limit the number of times you see an ad, and measure campaign effectiveness.
Snip.Cards does not control, operate, or directly access the cookies or tracking identifiers placed by third-party advertising partners.
For visitors in jurisdictions requiring explicit consent (such as the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and certain US states), advertising is served in accordance with applicable regional privacy frameworks (including the IAB Europe Transparency & Consent Framework). Where required, a Consent Management Platform (CMP) banner is provided to allow users to customize, reject, or revoke consent for personalized advertising and tracking technologies at any time.
You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time:
We utilize privacy-preserving, cookie-less aggregate telemetry (such as Cloudflare Web Analytics). These measurements do not set cookies, do not track users across domains, do not store personal data, and collect only anonymous aggregated metrics to maintain service availability and performance.
For users in jurisdictions where a legal basis is required for processing data (such as the EEA and UK under the GDPR, and Indonesia under UU PDP No. 27/2022), we rely on the following lawful bases:
Depending on your location, you may have rights under privacy laws such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) in the United States.
Because Snip.Cards processes all source code and image generation locally in your browser and does not collect or transmit your files, code, or personal identifiers to external servers, exercising your rights to access, rectify, or erase personal data is directly within your control by clearing your browser's local cache and localStorage. For any inquiries regarding our data handling practices or to exercise your rights, please reach out to us using the contact details below.
Snip.Cards is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any material changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
